Web Designers: ‘Personas’ for Firefox

Posted on Monday 15th Mar 2010 by Pete Campbell No Comments

Launched as part of the newly released Mozilla Firefox 3.6 web browser, Firefox Personas are a whole new toy for Web Designers to explore and play with.

In essence, upon installation of the ‘Personas’ plugin, users can customise their browser with its own theme and skin. Although browser-themes are hardly a revolutionary idea, Mozilla have build a fantastic, robust platform that allows users to install themes within seconds and opens doorways to web designers to create their own vibrant ‘Personas’ in a jiffy.

Looking towards the future, Mozilla plan to develop the plugin even further by making ‘Personas’ more dynamic such as tab-specific themes, rss/news tickers, animated themes and more.

If you’re a Web Designer, Mozilla have put together a handy guide on how-to-create your own ‘Personas’ which can be accessed here. In the meantime, we’ve put together some of the already-made ‘Personas’ that have caught our eye.
