Apple Safari 5 Web Browser - http://www.apple.com/safari/
Apple has unveiled the latest version of the Safari Web Browser this week at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2010) in San Francisco, California.
Safari 5 is already causing a lot of buzz across the web, with almost full-support for the progressive HTML5 specification that works in sync with the browsers new extensions platform.
Expanded HTML 5 Support
If you’re unfamiliar with web coding or website design, HTML5 is simply the newest version of the structural language that is used to build the majority of websites throughout the Internet.
HTML5 Closed-Caption & Full-Screen Video, Draggable Elements and Canvas 3D Support are just a few of the markup tags that are now supported within Safari 5.
Apple is pulling it’s full-weight behind HTML5 and has even published an online showcase which lets you try out a few of Safari 5’s new features in action. Look out for our Video this week for even more on the gallery.
Safari Extensions
Unsurprisingly, Apple has already seen a goldrush of Web Developers charging the pack to take advantage of the HTML5 compatible, Safari Extensions platform.
We’ll be featuring a Blog Post on our favourite Safari Extensions at a later date, but in the meantime we’d recommend this collective Tumblr Blog which highlights a few of the currently available Plugins.
