Web Design Tutorial – Fading image slideshow in Flash

Posted on Friday 30th Dec 2011 by James Bavington 4 Comments

In one of our earliest web design video blogs, we featured a simple Flash tutorial – ‘How to create a fading slideshow in Flash‘. As this was one of our most popular videos, we decided to re-shoot the video in HD and extend the tutorial so that it is clearer and explain the steps in a lot more detail.

In the tutorial, I’m using Adobe Flash CS5, however all of the techniques used are compatible with most recent versions Flash, right the way back to Macromedia Flash MX at least. Once you’ve finished you’re flash slideshow, simply create your SWF file by going to File > Publish.

Very good tutorial but a little too fast for me. Had to keep pausing just to keep up. Would be perfect if he could slow down.

Thank you! That is the clearest tutorial I have been able to find. So many others assume everyone should have some knowledge of Flash – we all have to start somewhere – even the professionals!
    Thanks again.
