How to claim your Google Maps (Google Places) listing

In this week’s web design video, we explain the process in claiming your company’s Google Maps (or Google Places listing. If you can successfully claim your listing; it gives you the ability to edit all of the information such as company name, website address, opening hours and even the ability to change the marker location on the map.

If your in the process of improving your business’ online marketing presence, then it’s important to take advantage of Google Maps by claiming and optimising your listing. It only takes about half an hour, and it’s something that you can go back to and update whenever you need to. So before you get started, you’ll need to have what’s called a ‘Google Account’. If you don’t have one, it only takes a few minutes to register, and it’s completely free. Simply go to google.co.uk/accounts/NewAccount and follow the simple steps.
